The Trap of the Twilight Saga

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm getting ready for work earlier this week, casually listening to the morning talk show. Low and behold the conversation begins about how bonkers all these people are going on and on about the movie New Moon. I wrote it off as a silly fad for teens, this current boom in vampire fantasy. I will be the first to admit that back in the day when I was a teen myself, Ann Rice's vampire books were listed amongst my favorite books. I was in love with the goolish characters, the fad vampire Lestat and all. I merely laughed at the memory of it and went along my day.

Little did I know that I would have a conversation with my friend Melanie that would influence me into purchasing my very first Twilight book.

Ray seams to think these books are for teenage girls. I just roll my eyes and let the comment roll of my back. I'm sitting here now reading the second book, uploading wedding pictures, and blogging, almost all at the same time. There is no shame in knowing I've been swept up with the crowd and am now a fan. A beautiful love story of a guy and girl who can't be together, tragic, sad, yet innocent, despite the fact that it's about vampires. I'm guilt free though, at least they're vegetarians!
