The second that Kendell was born something happend to me that I had NEVER experienced before. Unconditional love. When I was pregnant with Brianna, my greatest fear was that there couldn't possibly be any way that I could love another child as much as I loved Kendell but then it happend.... an overflowing stream of uncoditional love for both my children.
I don't know how it's possible, and my mind will never be able to fully grasp nor understand how I can look at each one of them and love them equally as much as I do. I believe it's one of God's greatest miracles this abundance of love that I can have and I'm so very thankful and blessed to be their mother.
Becoming a mom myself has also opened up my eyes to the strong woman that my own mom had to be. My mom raised 5 kids in a broken home that required a lot of long hours at work. There were times when she wondered how she was going to pay the bills or how she was going to pull off Christmas but somehow we always made it thru. Her favorite phrases to use are: "take it one day at a time" and "we'll cross that bridge when we get there". I've come to learn she used those a lot cause if the day ended and we were all fed with a roof over our heads then she was successful in putting aside another day.As a teenager I fought against a lot of what she had to say or what she represented. What I mistook for weakness was actually completely the opposite. I"m ashamed to say that I didn't honor my mom half as much as I should have.
Now that I'm grown and a mom of two kids I can't fathom the struggles that she went thru in raising 5 kids. My mom had to overcome many obstacles to make sure we had a roof over our head and knew that we were loved.
So I honor her today but not just today, every day. She's a light in my world when things are dark and I need someone to talk to. She's a great comfort to me when I wake up in the middle of the night after horrible dreams and need someone to pray with me. She's a stronger woman today then she ever was before and is a true reflection of Jesus. My mom is a beautiful woman, she shows her love not only to her children but to everyone around her. My mom is a real miracle, an answer to my prayers and I'm so proud to call her Mom.
I love you mom~
A Mother's Love
There is no love, like a mother's love,
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.
A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.
When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.
