Random Word of the Week

My friend Ricky loved to use random words that he'd pull out of the dictionary. This was his way of "expanding" his knowledge  and often caused me wondering what the heck "that" meant. I'd simply look at him blankly as if I had been struck upside the head.  Ricky would also say some pretty profound things though I wouldn't know how profound the statement was until he was forced to provide me with the definitions of the words he used.

Maggie, Ricky's sister, one of my BFF's since I was 12 convinced me that we had to get with it and start learning a new word every week and I was encouraged to use the word in context on a daily basis.  I can't recall one SINGLE word we learned on our journey of becoming brainiacs, which I find to be quit lamentable.  I'll be blogging these words going forward so if I ever need to remember 10 years from now maybe this blog will still be around so that I can remember.  It's in honor of Ricky and Maggie that I post this first blog of Random Vocab and I dedicate all future blogs on this subject to both of them!

If I have to be honest, I'm hoping that this will start a new fad where a group of several thousand people use the random word I post on my blog all on the same day, in the same location, all at one time just like those freaks that participate in random flash mobs.  I envy those freaky freaks... sigh... still waiting for my freaking invitation.  ~ I digress.

So the word of the week is:
Slapdash

Definition:
in a hasty, haphazard manner: He assembled the motor slapdash.

Use it people, use it!
