one is to be the leader to a group of 7 Girl Scouts. I started out this voyage 2 years ago when Brianna started Kindergarten. I made a quick decision to step up and volunteer to lead a small group of K and 1st grade Daisy Girl Scouts because I was a girl scout myself for several years in elementary school.
I have many memories from my years in Girl Scouting. I can swear that if I were ever stranded in the wilderness, I could survive due to the things I learned during my time with my Girl Scout troop. Ray would probably beg to differ because he thinks I'm so pampered. Little does he know that underneath it all I'm really a rough and tough it kind of girl. I can confidently state that I could cut it on the reality show Survivor if I had any real passion to try out. I'm so out of the loop though, is that show even still airing?
I digress.....
Our troop is now in our 2nd year of scouting and despite many stumbles along the way, I've been beyond blessed to have these girls in my life. The more time I spend with these girls, the more I recognize how much they've grown up and they have taught me not to forget what it's like to be young girl.
The shout out for this week goes out to my troop of Girl Scouts, cause they rocked it out at our FIRST EVER cookie booth sale and sold 102 boxes of cookies. They made a goal of 150 to be sold at 3 different booth sales and now they've sold so many today that we may have to order more. The 2nd shout out goes out to my medication of Percocet, for which I am gratful because without it I wouldn't have been able to participate with the girls today due to the oral surgery I had to undergo yesterday.
I had plenty of cleared volunteer's helping out today, including my awesome co-leader Suzie, just in case you were wondering. I wasn't solely responsible for these girls while I was medicated and did not transport any of them. ~Just an FYI and my disclaimer~ :)
A big wooo wooo to Troop 10818!
