Love is Everything.....

I couldn't sleep last night.  I thought about Ray and I and the way we started out. I recalled the day that I knew that I loved him and the time I knew that I'd be with him before we were even friends.  I thought about just about every obstacle that we've gone thru and how we've struggled thru the years and finally I thought about last year when God helped me to knock down the final brick in the wall that kept Ray and I from being able to fully love without worry or insecurity.

Sometimes, even if you're close to Christ, you feel like you don't deserve good in your life or don't deserve to be loved by good people.  The day you're able to accept that you do, it's like shackles falling to the ground, the discovery, a new found freedom.  My hope is that it won't take Kendell or Brianna 36 years to discover this.

I was talking to a close friend last week about what love really means to me - now.

Love isn't just a feeling, it's a verb - an action. Sometimes loving someone takes a lot of work.  Love isn't what Hollywood makes it out to be. Love is sticking by someone when things get really hard.  Love is seeing things thru and finding hope thru Christ when everything or everyone tells you there is no hope.  Love is being able to walk away when you know you need to because the Lord is telling you it's the right thing to do.  Love is fulfilling a commitment and a promise if you've made the choice to become someone's husband or wife.  Love should be unconditional and should not expect things from others.  Love is Christ and He loves us all with a love that can't be contained or fully described or explained. Love is everything!

1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on it's own way; it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrong-doing but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

Kendell told me this morning that Valentine's Day isn't a real holiday, I couldn't help but laugh.  Then I told him that you shouldn't let one day get away from you without telling the people that you love that you love them, in reality every day should be a Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day isn't Valentine's Day without a song dedication: This one is for you Ray-
