Do it - Bucket List

I am a dreamer.  However, being a wife and having a family have forced me into being practical and reasonable when it comes to fully pursuing every dream that comes to me. It is a tough pill to swallow, being practical, when my adventurous heart just wants to DO IT - run after it, follow every moment, fly by the seat of my pants, sporadically take a trip or drop everything at moments notice and scratch one more "want to do" off the list.

Taking tours with my Girl Scout troop this past weekend in Savannah,  completely inspired me. I learned so much about the power of human determination when a dream is born. So, I decided that it was an absolute requirement that I create a bucket list. I need to have some concrete goals of things that I want to do during my lifetime.  However, the task of beginning to create one seamed quit daunting.  Then it occurred to me, in order to begin, I must take the first step.

My favorite Chinese proverb:

"The journey of a thousand miles, begins with one single step"

I forced myself to memorize this proverb when I was only 10, I can't remember why I did but I'm glad I did. It often comes to mind when I'm having to face challenging obstacles or start a long term task that I don't know or have an idea of how to tackle.

Therefore, here are a few items on my bucket list that I will share:

1. Finish refurbishing that god awful dresser that I began work on several months ago.  This will add quality to the my life, as Ray will finally be happy not to see it in the garage and his happiness is my happiness.
2. Tell at least 5 people, EVERY single day, that I love them. The first 3 should be pretty easy, so I challenged myself to 2 additional people.  As I see it,  we should never hold back verbally expressing our love for others!
3. Completely unplug from the world for 15 minutes a day.
4. Visit Italy
5. Swim with dolphins.

Yes I think this is a start.

You know all those things that you've always wanted to do? You should go do them too. Do it.

I love the rustic feel of Savannah and wish I had more time to capture all the beauty that I was taking in.  I hope to get back there for a weekend photography trip soon.  For now, here are a few images I captured.  The lighthouse one I captured at Tybee Island on our dolphin tour at Captain Derek's Dolphin Adventure.
